Cast Iron Y-Strainer BV511
What is a Y-Strainer?
A Y-strainer is a mechanical filter used in pipelines to remove debris such as rust, scale, or other solids from the flow of liquids. The Y-shape design allows fluid to pass through the main line while diverting unwanted particles into a filtering chamber. This helps protect pumps, valves, and other pipeline equipment from damage and clogging.
How It Works
The BV511 Cast Iron Y-Strainer uses a mesh screen positioned at an angle inside the body. As the fluid flows through the strainer, solid particles are captured by the 20-mesh stainless steel screen, while clean water continues through the pipeline. The screen can be easily accessed and cleaned via the threaded cap at the bottom.
