A New Silent Check Valve from JuHan Valve
As is well known, the internal flow diffuser of a silent check valve plays a crucial role in stabilizing flow. If the water flow is unstable, the uneven velocity and pressure may lead to stronger water hammer effects when the valve closes. Additionally, unstable fluid turbulence increases energy loss and reduces pump efficiency. The design of the silent check valve is intended to minimize noise during fluid flow, and if the water flow is unstable, it may lead to cavitation or turbulence, generating even more noise.
After studying many existing silent check valves on the market, we found that their flow diffusers were not perfect. Therefore, we decided to find a solution that would significantly stabilize the flow rate. After extensive research and testing by professional designers, we achieved a technical breakthrough in 2023 and applied for the relevant patents.
We have designed the internal flow diffuser of the silent check valve in the shape of a reverse-flow wing, similar to the tail end of a shell, which significantly enhances the flow stabilization effect as water flows through the valve body.
What is a Silent Check Valve?
A silent check valve is a type of valve designed to prevent backflow while reducing water hammer effects and noise. It is commonly used in pipeline systems that require quiet operation, such as water supply systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and pump stations.
Working Principle of the Silent Check Valve
This type of valve only allows the medium to flow in one direction and prevents reverse flow. The valve controls the direction of the water flow with a spring-assisted closure mechanism.
When the water flows forward, the valve disc is pushed open, allowing the fluid to pass through.
When the water flow stops or there is a tendency for reverse flow, the spring quickly closes the valve disc, preventing backflow. Since the valve closes gradually, it reduces or eliminates the water hammer effect (the pressure shock generated when fluid in a pipeline suddenly stops or flows in the opposite direction).
